HDB Moving Guidance
Moving from an HDB flat
For most HDB flats, the loading/unloading point is within 30m of your block, so no additional charges apply. However, in some older estates, this isn't the case — for example, the nearest loading point may be 2–3 blocks away at an open-air carpark, or in some cases, there may be no designated loading point nearby at all.
Additionally, some older estates have 3–6 flights of steps leading up to the unit, and ground-floor units may have even more. These details matter, as they may result in additional charges — so do let us know upfront if any of these apply to your move.
Condo/Apartment Moving Guidance
Moving from a Condo/Apartment
Before your move, we recommend checking in with your condo or apartment's management office to find out the lead time required to book your moving in/out slot, as well as any deposit required. Lead times typically range from 2–3 business days to 5–7 business days, depending on the building.
As with HDB moves, additional charges may apply if there's a long push from the loading point, steps, or basement/slope access involved.
Landed Moving Guidance
Moving from a Landed Property
Landed property moves will almost always involve stairs, and may require additional manpower — or in some cases, specialised equipment — to move heavier furniture safely. Certain items may also need special handling and enhanced protective wrapping.
For landed moves, we recommend a site survey so our team can assess these requirements accurately and give you the most precise quote.
Singapore Mover as your Number One Choice Mover
Why choose us as your choice as mover singapore? We do not claim to be the fastest at packing, nor do we claim to be able to drive the fastest from your old place to your new one. Our key selling factor is our transparency, which is the most important aspect of most businesses. If you were craving for chicken rice, in most instances I'm sure that we would choose the one with prices listed, yes? With this reference in mind, we as Mover Singapore always lay out our cards first, and we do our best to stick by them. Why do you ask? Simple because of this, if you are just moving and moving alone, that's all you pay for. And if you have more things to move, we would have to add on, just like when you order more food, you pay for more food. We at Singapore Mover do like our food a lot, so we shall use food as a reference to our methods of introduction.
The more complicated your move, the more different the charges. Like if you were to order (at a western food stall) a chicken chop, then you decided to add on more fries, and more onion rings, or you would like your chicken chop slightly modified. So let's just say you are moving from a condominium towards a landed house. You will be paying upwards compared to moving from a condo to another condo. Why so? At a landed property, we at Singapore Mover would have steps, stairs and hard access ways. The complexity and difficulty of the move has gone up exponentially. Just like when you order kueh chup. Standard set VS top up more meat, more intestines, more eggs, more tao kua. Haha, you get our drift right?
Movers in Singapore, what do we do?
One quintessential aspect that most home owners missed out on, is that they will have the idea that most of the items inside their houses are able to fit inside ONE LORRY. Alright alright! You can laugh, it is quite funny when you consider what their concept of a lorry is. At times it is the thought that our Singapore mover lorry is like the cartoon magic schoolbus, no matter how you stuff it, it will still have space to… stuff more! Which is very funny in this aspect, because for one thing that we can be certain. The part where we can only perceive what is to be moved, with that is in front of us directly at this point in time. What do I mean by that?
If we as mover singapore were to have a conversation right now, it would most likely be in your living room about how we are going to proceed with your move, what items would be going towards your new home and all that. So the idea of moving to you at that point in time would only be generally speaking, what your eyes can lay on. If we mover Singapore are in your living room, we would be looking at your TV, your sofa, your coffee table, your dining table and chairs. And at that point in time you would think that this is all that you are going to move towards your new home. And generally speaking, you are right, partially at least. Some families do have a storage room, some have racks in a corner of a certain room. And since they are always stuffed away into a certain corner or totally forgotten because they haven't been used for a long time. They tend to be left out of the entire equation. That is the reason why it is better to know what you are planning to move over to your new house, when you are thoroughly going through the items. Be them seen or unseen.
What to expect when moving in Singapore
There are many occurrences of moves that are actually way out of everyone’s expectations. Some people would like to move only part of their stuff and then leave the rest to be disposed of. Some would want to move some of their items, but are unsure of the rest of the bulk of it. Only one thing for certain, a good 99% of the time, most items in your house would be going towards your new home. Why so? Because at any point in time, we would have items that you would be using almost immediately, your food, dry food, plates, cooking pots and pans, condiments. Your clothes, work clothes, work out clothes, seasonal travelling clothes and so forth. And lets remember that we have luggage bags for travelling as well as shoes, sports equipment and so forth. And that is only the bulk of essentials that we are talking about. What about people with hobbies like collectable enthusiasts? We as Singapore mover have a fair share of individuals who are totally invested in toys, figurines and plushies too. What you come to imagine as a 1 load move for your house is actually the start of your move casually speaking.
Unless you are a single person, who is an extreme minimalist with belongings that you can actually count with your fingers and toes. We at Singapore Mover have met such talented individuals from time to time. That aside! A huge number of us who have partners, or children, or even with their extended families, will have many personal belongings to go. This will cover the basics of your move with us, the next would be the customization part where we look into more tailored-to-fit options. Some families will request for a move that will be from home to storage, and wait for their renovation to be completed, before moving back to their original homes. Some would be from home to partial storage, and then their belongings might go towards their relative’s houses, or gifting some white goods away like their fridges or washing machines, sometimes even sofas and TVs.
Why Engage Our Home Moving Services in Singapore?
Transparent Pricing
We are proud to say that we have very transparent pricing regarding the total items to move that you have informed us with.
Yes the pricing might be sometimes different, as much as we like, the items informed on moving and the items during the moving day, will almost always be more. We have customers who tell us 1 truck load is enough, but it is always more than 1 truckload on the moving date.
Which is why we always value a site survey, to understand better which items you would like us to move, and which items to be disposed of.
High priority on customer oriented service
We aim to be gifted with the Singapore Quality class in Customer Service Excellence.
And we really put everything at the spearhead of all these with People, Service, Leadership, Transparency and Customer Service. Because of the competitive nature of most businesses, we aim to constantly challenge ourselves to higher standards ever so often.
We are also gunning for multiple awards with regards to our element of moving service in Singapore. Carton boxes that are provided on loan on moving, will always be collected back as we highly believe in keeping our sunny island of Singapore eco-friendly, and sustainable recycling initiatives across the country.
We want to move it move it~ move it for you!
We have not moved millions of houses in Singapore yet. It is our goal though! We will keep on adding to the big jar of completed moves of HDBs, Condos and Landed. Sprinkle in the office and commercial moves. Another dash of Landed moving. Hit us up! Drop a ping on whatsapp to book an appointment for a site survey for your move!
Mover Services: Moving for you, door to door.
Singapore Moving Service offers everyone on the sunny island of Singapore the following! Home moving service, office moving service, landed moving service, disposal service and we hope in the near future we can offer storage options as well!
We aim to be the best movers in Singapore, but we are certainly not the cheapest movers in town. While moving is quite a stressful event for some people, our professional team likes to take our work with a pinch of humour and wit. In this highly competitive industry, we would like to value add towards our moving services provided in Singapore with fun and laughter when you move with us.
Before your move with us, we will be providing you carton boxes on loan for your move, so you won't have to purchase your own. We will also be conducting a site survey with you to understand better what are the total items that you would be moving with us. We do understand at some point during packing you might want to add more items and dispose of some. Fret not! We provide disposal services as well!
Our Moving FAQ
The best would be 3 working days in advance, where we can allocate the time slot for you with confidence. In the event where you need it within 24 hours, please call us.
Generally, the cost is from $350~$2000+ for HDBs moving service. At times 1 truck load is insufficient for the move, sometimes it goes more than 3 truck loads.
Yes, a few services are considered add-ons and may come with extra charges:
- Furniture dismantling – such as beds, tables, and other furniture that needs to be taken apart.
- Steps/stairs charges – for older HDB flats with 3–6 steps, as well as executive maisonettes, penthouses, duplexes, and walk-up apartments, landed houses.
- Condominium access charges – for a long push from the loading point to the block, or for slope/basement access.
Four things decide it:
- Volume: Most houses need about 3 lorry loads, going up to 4 to 6 if you have more belongings. Packing can be 40 to 50 boxes for some homes and 80 or more for others.
- Furniture: If we need to open the toolbox to take a piece apart or put it back together, an additional charge applies.
- Special wrapping: Pieces that need extra careful wrapping for transport cost $50 to $100 per item, depending on what you need.
- Stairs: Some older HDB blocks have steps outside the unit. For 3 steps, it’s +$85 per load, per location.
Send us photos of your home and we can start quoting right away. Site surveys are free, and if we can find a time that suits everyone, we’ll come down.
What to prepare before we chat
We’ll have a short, friendly chat to understand your move and plan it properly. It helps if you can tell us:
- Move date: Your preferred date or date range, so we can check availability.
- Items: A rough count of your furniture and boxes. It doesn’t need to be exact; we’ll refine it together.
- Bulky items: Wardrobes, sofas, pianos or appliances, so we bring the right equipment and manpower.
- Dismantling: Which items (e.g. beds, cabinets, shelving units) need dismantling and reassembly. We’ll factor it into your quote.
- Steps: Whether there are any steps to your unit, and roughly how many.
- Loading point: How far the loading point is from your unit, and whether there is a long push, basement access or a slope on the way. These may come with extra charges.
- Moving or staying: We’ll go through your inventory together to confirm what moves and what stays.
- Disposal: Bulky items you’d rather not move? We can arrange disposal as part of the service (Disposal Services).
Let us know upfront about your block’s loading point and any steps. For most HDB flats, the loading point is within 30m of your block, so no additional charges apply. In some older estates, the nearest loading point may be 2–3 blocks away, or there may be no designated loading point nearby. Some older estates also have 3–6 flights of steps leading up to the unit. These details may result in additional charges. The same applies for Condos as well.
Yes, certainly! We’re able to dismantle and reassemble wardrobes, beds, and tables as part of our service.
A quick disclaimer: if, at the time of dismantling, the furniture is found to be wobbly, shaky, deteriorating, or has broken screws or loose parts, we will inform you and may decline to proceed with dismantling that particular item — this is to avoid causing further damage or safety issues.
Additionally, if a piece of furniture can be dismantled but cannot be properly reassembled afterward, or its original form/structure cannot be restored, we will also decline to dismantle it. Our aim is to ensure your furniture is handled safely and returned to you in the best possible condition.
Do you provide packing materials?
Yes! We provide boxes on loan and tape for the boxes, so you can pack your personal belongings with ease.
If you take up one of our packages, additional packing materials — such as mahjong paper for plates and glassware, and bubble wrap — will also be provided.
Do you offer packing and unpacking services?
Yes, we do offer packing and unpacking services as well. These are provided at an additional charge on top of the cost of the move.
Yes, two things:
- Deposit lead time — Check how much advance notice is needed to place a moving deposit (for both moving in and out). This helps avoid last-minute hiccups on your move date. Adding on would be to place the deposits at both condo management in advance.
- Lorry parking — Check where lorries are allowed to park on moving day. This ensures our movers comply with your condo’s rules.
We certainly can! Unless the item requires hulk-like strength to complete, we surely are able to handle landed house moves with stairs.
We do move on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays. In the event you would like to move on a Public Holiday, do inform us in advance and we will discuss further.
Fixtures — Items fixed to the home itself, such as lamps, ceiling fans, and built-in wardrobes. Any item that requires a professional demolition team to remove, goes to them.
Hazardous items — Anything involving gas, chemicals, petroleum, or explosives. For these, we’d advise engaging a professional specialist instead.
Without a doubt at all! At times, even on the move date itself, there will still be adjustments for the items.
